According to the research carried out by its previous owner, this HK 500 was first registered on 23 April 1959. Finished in black with a red leather interior, it had a manual gearbox, Rudge wheels and optional disc brakes all-round. It was registered new in the name of the company Allainguillaume & Patin, a coal producer, and was M. Patin’s company car. It was then sold to Jean Berthier, who registered it in Paris on 27 May 1961. A resident of Nancy bought the car in 1974. It was then acquired by a garage owner from Viroflay, who put it into storage in 1979, and from whom the previous owner bought the car in 1995. Photographs show it emerging from storage and the high-quality restoration which was then carried out until the end of 1997. Its previous owner explained that the original TY7 engine was replaced by a 7.4-litre unit, but we were unable to check this, as there is no number on the block. Due to an administrative error, the registration document shows the chassis number as 43 instead of L3. At its last technical inspection, the odometer was reading 64,607km; it is now showing 64,675km. This flagship of the French car industry was Jean-Pierre Nylin’s pride and joy; after being recommissioned and serviced, the same will undoubtedly be true for its new owner.

Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display. They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads.
