1973 Jaguar Type E V12 Série 3 Roadster

 

Ainsi que le confirme sa plaque de l’importateur British Leyland pour la France, ce Roadster V12 a été vendu neuf dans l’hexagone. L'attestation Jaguar Heritage jointe au dossier précise qu'il est sorti d'usine le 25 mai 1972, puis a été délivré le 7 septembre suivant. Il était de teinte "rouge regency" avec intérieur "cannelle". Ce document précise confirme également que la voiture dispose de son moteur d'origine et disposait bien d'une boîte manuelle. Immatriculé le 10 mai 1973, il est équipé d’une désirable boîte manuelle. C’est en 2001 que le père des actuels propriétaires, collectionneur éclairé, en a fait l’acquisition alors que la voiture était immatriculée en Charente depuis 1974 ! Il a ensuite utilisé régulièrement son beau roadster dont il appréciait la souplesse du V12. Il a d’ailleurs participé à la Coupe des Alpes en 2006 à son volant. De couleur rouge sombre avec intérieur en cuir havane, cette Jaguar n’a plus roulé depuis 2008. La carrosserie a été anciennement repeinte, l’intérieur bien préservé et le compteur affiche 68 739 km. Elle devra bénéficier d’une remise en route et d’une révision complète avant de reprendre la route, amplement mérités au regard de l’intérêt de cette version française d’origine avec boîte mécanique. Cette sortie de grange constitue un projet enthousiasmant qui séduira les connaisseurs.

As evidenced by its British Leyland importer’s plate issued for France, this V12 Roadster was sold new in France. Registered on the 10th of May 1973, it is fitted with a desirable manual gearbox. The Jaguar Heritage certificate included in the file states that it left the factory on 25 May 1972 and was registered on 7 September of that year. It was painted in ‘Regency Red’ with a ‘Cinnamon’ interior. This document also confirms that the car has its original engine and was indeed fitted with a manual gearbox. It was in 2001 that the current owners' father (a discerning collector), acquired it after it had been registered in Charente since 1974! He then drove his beautiful roadster regularly, enjoying the smoothness of its V12 engine. He even took part and drove in the Coupe des Alpes in 2006. In dark red colour with a tan leather interior, this Jaguar has not been driven since 2008. The bodywork has been repainted in the past, the interior is well preserved and the odometer reads 68,739 km. It will require a restart and a full service before it can hit the road again, well deserved given the appeal of this original French version with a manual gearbox. This barn find represents an exciting project that will appeal to discerning enthusiasts.
