- Original engine block
- Full restoration in the 1990s
- Rare and sought-after version
As a discerning collector, Jean-Pierre Nylin had chosen one of the most sought-after versions of the Giulietta: the first-generation Spider (Type 750F), eligible for numerous classic car events and fitted with a more powerful engine for the Veloce model. It was purchased in June 1996 under the hammer of Maître Poulain, after it was owned by a well-known collector from Seine-et-Marne since 1992. At that time, the car was known to have had a major mechanical and bodywork restoration carried out. It has barely been driven since and now displaying a mileage of 6,032 km (the odometer was showing 5,993 km back in 2016). Even if some minor reactions are noticeable on the paintwork, the bodywork remains nonetheless in healthy condition. This example has its original engine block and the cylinder head (which has been re-welded) is equipped with two Weber 40 DCO3 carburettors, as it should be. The upholstery, the hood and the tonneau cover are in good condition. After a careful restart and a standard service, this Spider Veloce (only 368 examples produced in 1959) will make a highly desirable addition to any discerning enthusiast’s collection.
Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display. They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads.
